An instrumental led by low whistle, named for the peewits (Lapwings) which inhabit Teesside’s industry-fringed wetlands. Their wheeling flights and plaintive calls, mixed with those of curlew and other wildfowl, lend a calm, wild beauty to a landscape which might otherwise appear bleak.
