JAKE ROWLINSON
Jake is a singer who grew up in the English Midlands, on the border of Staffordshire and Derbyshire. His childhood introduction to music came primarily from his parents’ rock and roll collection, alongside witnessing ancient, local traditions like the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance. As a teenager, he began listening to bands like Jethro Tull, and sang in rock and funk bands, before developing an interest in English folk song whilst studying illustration in Plymouth, where he currently resides. Jake is actively involved in running local sessions, and can often be found singing unaccompanied traditional songs in pubs around Plymouth, as well as morris dancing during summer months.
Jake is also a trained illustrator, working under the nom de plume of Robin Goodfellow. Born from a love of folk music, history, and the myths and legends of Britain, his work encompasses morris dancing, paganism, nature, and our living traditions. He creates editioned prints, t-shirts, and private and commercial commissions.
